Painting by Amanda Assad Mounser, profile and designer bio

With a long time affinity for painting, drawing and building, Amanda Assad Mounser chose to translate her artistic expression into a wearable context.  In 2009, she founded MOUNSER Studio in New York, which houses her namesake jewelry line MOUNSER.

MOUNSER Studio focuses on a sculptural approach to design with inspiration rooted in both nature and modernist and contemporary art.  Amanda’s collections of jewelry, art and object create abstract mementos that manifest the essence of the natural world in its simple beauty.

Light, shape and a thoughtful use of color are points of interest for Amanda and the line takes influence from the works of Cy Twombly, Dan Flavin, Helen Frankenthaler, Isamu Noguchi, James Turrell, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Yves Klein.

Silhouettes experiment with the ideas of balance, proportion and movement with attention to both the positive and negative space the pieces embody.  Minimal elements are thoughtfully joined offering an artful yet wearable composition.

In 2019, Amanda and her husband / collaborator Henry Mounser became enamored with the landscape of the west coast and migrated there.  MOUNSER jewelry is produced in both New York and Los Angeles seamlessly fusing east coast roots with a dreamy west coast perspective.

MOUNSER jewelry can be found at the finest luxury retailers worldwide. Amanda’s work has been featured in Vogue, CR Fashion Book, Harper's Bazaar, i-d Magazine, The New York Times and WSJ to name a few. Celebrity supporters include Alicia Keys, Emilia Clarke, Kate Bosworth, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michelle Obama and Reese Witherspoon.
